Infertility affects 7.3 million people in the U.S. This figure represents 12% of women of childbearing age, or 1 in 8 couples. So, there’s a real chance you or someone you know are victims of infertility. Resolve.org sponsors the National Infertility Association and offers support and guidance for infertility issues. Since infertility is different for each couple that faces it, there are tools and publications dedicated to helping all of them.
Here are a couple of great resources that we have found: • Read Resolving Infertility: Understanding the Options and Choosing Solutions When You Want to Have a Baby, written by the staff at Resolve.org for a comprehensive guide that will educate you and encourage you to ask the right questions.
• Taking Charge of Your Fertility: The Definitive Guide to Natural Birth Control, Pregnancy Achievement, and Reproductive Health is a beautifully written guide to a woman's fertility. It is full of knowledge, wisdom, humor, and is a must for your bookshelf. And it is important to remember that during the last decade, health care providers have made great strides in the ability to diagnose and treat infertility, and roughly 2/3 of couples who seek medical intervention are able to give birth. The most important things you can do are be informed and don’t give up hope. |

In a throwaway convenience world, we buy so many things we don’t need including things that are often overpackaged and stuffed with poisons. The principle of “unshopping” involves unlearning all the bad habits of our consumer society, shopping more responsibly and thinking about the future of the planet.
To begin learning the art of “unshopping” read any of these three great books • Save Cash AND Save the Planet by Andrea Smith and Cicola Baird • Wake Up and Smell the Planet: The Non-Pompous, Non-Preachy Grist Guide to Greening Your Day by Grist Magazine, Brangien Davis, and Katharine Wroth • Green Goes with Everything: Simple Steps to a Healthier Life and a Cleaner Planet by Sloan Barnett And for starters, here is a list of ten things you should never buy: |

You’ve seen it here before. You might have even ordered it. But if you didn’t, those skinny jeans may still be taunting you from their hanger.
Because of the huge response we received from Daily Cents readers when we featured Lisa G.’s Skinny Jeans Workout a couple of months ago, we decided to feature it again and reach out to all the women who can’t find an hour a day to eat a leisurely, healthful meal, let alone get a workout in. And after all, isn’t that all of us? |

The catch-phrase in the health and fitness industry for the past several years has been "core strength." The emphasis on core strength comes from the school of thought that your "core" (abdominal area) interacts with every part of your body; thus, a strong or weak core will affect your overall fitness level. That being said, the crew at Daily Cents thinks we might have found one of the best core strengtheners around - The Bender Ball.
The Bender Ball Method uses a small rubber ball that can be placed under your lower back allowing you to extend your crunches, making your workout over 400% more effective than if you did regular crunches. You can also place the ball under your derriere to do leg lifts that will work your hard-to-get-at lower abs. |

The purse you carry can say a lot about who you are (or who you think you are) but would you be surprised to know that what’s inside your purse can say a lot about your health?
According to an article by Forbes.com, what women decide to stuff into their hobo, satchel, clutch and/or shoulder bags says a lot about how she approaches her health. For example, your bag can be stuffed with old makeup, fistfuls of receipts and candy bars in various states of consumption; or it can have healthy snacks, vitamins and sunscreen. |
