Take the Stress Out of "What's for Dinner?"
Daily Cents - Work / Life Balance

Sometimes desperation is all the inspiration needed to come up with a great idea. And that is just what happened with our new favorite product - Dinner a la Card. If thinking about what's for dinner sends your blood pressure to a new high and your patience to a new low, this is the perfect solution to "de-stress" those mealtime decisions. A unique meal planning and organizing system, Dinner a la Card is designed to keep your meal menus organized and close at hand.

So let us tell you what Dinner a la Card is and what it is not. Let's start with the first big "nots" - it is not a recipe filing system and the cards do not come with recipes on them. The cards are uniquely designed (great graphics - very cute!) to list the ingredients of meals you know how to make. You fill out one card for each of your dinner favorites by simply listing all of the ingredients along with the sides and the condiments that go with the meal. Once you have done that, you place the cards on a ring.

Take the Dilemma Out of Dinner - It's Slow-Cooker Season!
Daily Cents - Work / Life Balance

It’s the same story each and every morning: making lunches, rushing the kids out the door for school, getting dressed for your big meeting at work…oh yeah, and what should we set out for dinner tonight?

Well, good news - it's slow-cooker season!  When the temps cool, we think of delectable roasts, spicy chili and hearty soups (see the Apple Cider Stew recipe at the end of this article) with warm bread. Best of all, you can throw all the ingredients in before you go to work, and by the time the family reunites for dinner, the only thing left to do is sit down and enjoy a warm meal and each other.

One of our favorite Fall kitchen friends is the slow-cooker. Meals are cooked to perfection in these small appliance wonders like the Hamilton Beach Set N Forget slow cooker that lets you cook three ways.
